Meet Jay and Christa the Power Couple Behind Tumbleweeds

Summer is right around the corner which means it’s time to kick off our second annual Food Truck Friday! Starting tomorrow, Bozeman’s Best mobile eateries will be serving up lunch and tasty treats every Friday from 11:30 – 2:00 until July 1st in our downtown Bozeman parking lot.

To celebrate the start we’re featuring a behind-the-scenes look at Tumbleweeds Food Truck. Owners Jay and Christa Blaske have been slinging some of the areas most delicious tacos on the streets of Bozeman.

Christa and Jay met in Gainesville, FLA and when they decided to get married Christa had one condition: she was moving back to Montana where she grew up. The transition from sunny Florida to Montana was easy for Jay — by 2010 they had a young daughter and the appeal of moving to a small town where he could spend more time with his family was powerful.

Jay and Christa owned a restaurant in Gainesville, so the idea of starting a food truck here in Bozeman was a natural next step for both of them not only because there was a dearth of mobile eateries, but because it meant they would get to spend quality time with their daughter. Thanks to their business, they have really woven themselves in to the fabric of this community. The Architect’s Wife had the pleasure of devouring a pair of tender lamb tacos last week and what really struck her is that nearly every person that came to the window, Jay and Christa knew on a first name basis.

Since 2012, they’ve been crafting delicious Asian Fusion tacos and more to the Gallatin Valley and The Architect’s Wife was lucky enough to snag them for this year’s Food Truck Fridays. We love working with Jay and Christa and love being able to provide a venue for these guys to share their talent each week. Please join us tomorrow for Food Truck Friday!
